The Appalachian Mountain Club's New York-North Jersey Chapter is the largest and most comprehensive canoe and kayak organization in the NYC area, with over 100 activities throught the year. We offer summer paddling classes for novice through intermediate paddlers, whitewater rescue classes to keep our trips safe, and winter pool sessions to refine our skills. Chota Canoe Club
Chota Canoe Club was founded in 1969 as a whitewater club in Knoxville, Tennessee. The club began as an informal group of whitewater paddlers in 1969, and then took the name Chota in 1972 when the Little Tennessee River was threatened by the construction of a controversial dam. Today Chota welcomes all paddlers, whitewater and touring canoes, kayaks, as well as stand up boarders. We provide trips and training for paddlers, promote safe boating practices and support conservation.

EPIC Adventures
EPIC is the Eastern Washington University outdoor program. As a part of Student Life, EPIC is here to give Eastern students the opportunity to try some new and adventurous things outside of the classroom. These activities include backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking (flatwater & whitewater), whitewater rafting, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, biking. If it's human powered and in the outdoors, we probably do it.
North West Whitewater Association
The Northwest Whitewater Association is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on recreational boating, established Dec. 1982 in Oregon. NWA is an organization devoted to exploring and enjoying rivers of all kinds in the Northwest. We strive to help introduce new people to the sport through a variety of classes. We work on river access issues in our area, and conduct the annual UpRiver Scrub upper Spokane River clean-up day each fall.

The Mountaineers
The Mountaineers is a community built around passion for the outdoors. For over 100 years, The Mountaineers have been teaching skills, sharing adventures, creating volunteers, and conserving land. American Whitewater has a long history of partnership with The Mountaineers. Wolf Bauer who started the basic climbing course for The Mountaineers was also a founder of American Whitewater.

AW's original purpose since 1954 has been to distribute information among its Affiliate Clubs. AW's relationship with local clubs has provided the backbone for much of the river conservation and access work it accomplishes throughout the country.
