The state of South Carolina is considering funding the removal of the third of three dams on Twelvemile Creek.  The other two dams are already shceduled for removal.  The removal of all three dams would restore a lost whitewater river that is currently buried under reservoirs.  As part of their decision-making process the SC Department of Natural Resources has posted an online survey which asks the public to prioritize the allocation of funding across a variety of reservoir-oriented projects, or reallocating the funding to remove the Easley Central Dam.  We ask that paddlers interested in restoring Twelvemile Creek take the survey and voice their support for the removal of Easley Central Dam.
