A Note from our Membership Director

We know that many of you are struggling financially due to economic loss as a result of COVID-19. Our mission is to protect and restore America's whitewater rivers and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely. Most of us are keeping it close to home; visiting favorite rivers that require additional travel will be limited for the foreseeable future. But American Whitewater will continue to protect and restore these rivers so that we can enjoy them in the future-rivers need water to thrive and we'll keep working on that. Our rivers will be there when this is over and the paddling community will rally at put-ins and take-outs once more. Your membership plays a lead role in our ability to continue our river stewardship work. The strength of our voice is your membership and support.

If your membership is up for renewal and you've lost your job or your income has been greatly diminished, we will extend a complimentary basic membership for a year. We don't want to lose touch with you! Many of you have supported us for decades and some for less than that, but we need all of your support to continue our mission. We'll continue to send action alerts out for engagement-whether in the form of volunteerism or the submission of comments to make sure our collective voice is heard.

This is such a challenging time for everyone. We are truly all in this together. The team at AW is looking forward to better days ahead, when we can all catch eddies together and bask in the awe of the healing power of rivers. Keep on looking downstream.
