Abstract

This project is focused on quantifying the quality and economic impact of whitewater boating on the Poudre River to support American Whitewater’s advocacy efforts. Phase 1 of this study was initiated May 1, 2020 and includes three core tasks: 1) an initial flow preference study of eleven whitewater reaches, 2) an impact assessment quantifying how the proposed Northern Integrated Supply Project will affect whitewater boating conditions, and 3) the development of a preliminary economic model to quantify the economic benefit of Poudre River Whitewater Park visitation to the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County.
